Attitudes and Behaviors
To compete at their top level and to foster a positive team atmosphere, Marshall Nordic Ski Team Athletes:
- Do their best in school
- Are role models at all times
- Treat members of their family with the utmost respect
- Use respectful language
- Arrive on time
- Are friendly to new skiers and other teams
- Spend time skiing with teammates of all abilities
- Teach others to ski
- Are playful
- Know how to ski easy
- Aren’t afraid to ask for help
- Accept direction from the coaching staff
- Watch other skiers and learn from their technique
- Take care of their body like championship athletes by giving it proper dress, proper food, and proper sleep
- Clean up the wax room
- Come to meets prepared
- Tuck on the down hills
- Never let up until they are over the top of a hill
- Never quit before the finish line
- Cheer on the course when they are not racing
- Cheer for other teams
- Attend award ceremonies
- Aren’t on the bus at ski meets because they are too busy cheering!
